Mining and Quarrying

Mining & Quarrying

One of the oldest industries known to man remains to be one of the most aggressive in which to operate. Britcon's vast and diverse construction experience enables us to confidently undertake works where many of our competitors would fear to tread.

Mining and quarrying are both recognized as dangerous industries to work for, continued use of massive earth-moving vehicles and machinery, use of explosives, ever present airborne dust, and simply working on sites such as these is dangerous. Throughout the feasibility, design and construction phases Britcon's engineers will work closely with your project team, appointed professionals such as health and safety, geologists and civil engineers to ensure that work progresses smoothly and that projected costs and program deadlines are achieved.

It is important the solutions provided by Britcon are as robust as the environment they will serve. Developments often comprise a range of process buildings including; hoppers, crushing plant, screens, silos, conveyors, kiln dryers, loading and discharge points.

Key features

  • Britcon are fully aware of the impact of construction on neighbouring roads and properties and the need to maintain relationships.
  • Health and Safety policy and procedures totally aligned to that of the customer
  • Biodiversity fully considered

Quarry projects often involve the construction and installation of heavily reinforced concrete bases for new machinery or grading equipment. These complex structures have to be created and installed in a potentially hostile, live quarry environment, so safety is always a key feature of the project.
