Structural Steelwork for a new railway station for Network Rail & Derbyshire Council.
Britcon supply comprises detail, supply, fabrication, surface treatment & installation of a new 3 Metre wide, 85 Metre long high level footbridge with staircase and ramp access to platforms 1 & 2.
The new station provides the residents of Ilkeston and surrounding areas with vital rail transport links to Nottingham & Chesterfield/Sheffield with an estimated 120,000 passengers expected to utilise the new service per annum.
The new structure was installed over several night time possessions and was completed end of 2016.
The footbridge was designed in consultation with Network Rail & Derbyshire Council by URS Infrastructure & Environment UK Ltd to the latest Network Rail standard drawings and was constructed by Britcon Engineering Services for Galliford Try.
