Jonathan Reynolds MP and key project stakeholders visit our £11m Hattersley Trade Park project
Britcon is proud to announce that the main works are now officially underway at Hattersley Trade Park, a landmark mixed-use development being delivered in partnership with Maple Grove Developments, part of the Eric Wright Group.
As principal contractor, Britcon joined key stakeholders including Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, local MP and Secretary for State, Jonathan Reynolds, Onward Homes, and incoming occupiers to celebrate the groundbreaking at the 5.5-acre site.
This £11 million project will transform a long-vacant plot into a vibrant commercial and community destination, delivering:
-
Up to eight trade counter-style employment units, ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 sq ft
-
A new Aldi supermarket
-
Costa Coffee café and drive-through
-
16 ultra-rapid EV charging points, in partnership with national charging network Be.EV
-
179 customer parking spaces .
With sustainability and community value at its core, the scheme is targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and EPC A, supported by high-quality landscaping throughout.
This project marks the next chapter in the regeneration of Hattersley, creating much-needed retail, commercial and employment space for the Tameside area. It builds on Britcon’s track record of delivering sustainable civils and build projects that support local economies.
Knight Frank has been appointed as the sole letting agent for the employment units, with the wider professional team includes The Harris Partnership, Abacus Cost Management, and ICIS Design.
Completion is expected in Summer 2026.
