Steel Signing Ceremony Celebrates Progress at Hattersley Trade Park

Britcon is pleased to announce a key milestone in the delivery of Hattersley Trade Park, with the official steel signing ceremony held last week. The event marked the completion of the steel frame, which will support eight new trade counters or employment units at the 5.5-acre mixed-use site in Tameside.

Led by Maple Grove Developments, part of the Eric Wright Group, and delivered in partnership with Onward Homes and Tameside Council, the £11 million scheme is progressing on schedule, with a target completion of June 2026.

The development will introduce a range of new facilities including a state-of-the-art Aldi food store, Costa Coffee café and drive-thru, 179 customer parking spaces, and 12 ultra-rapid EV charging points from Be.EV. The eight trade counter units will range from 3,000 to 6,000 sq ft and are already generating strong interest from local businesses.

Sustainability is central to the project’s ethos, with the employment units targeting BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC A ratings. The site will also be landscaped to enhance local biodiversity and provide a welcoming environment for the community.

Nick Hague, Project Director at Maple Grove Developments, commented:
“Our contractor, Britcon, has made excellent progress in just a few months to reach this significant milestone. We’ve had a lot of interest in these eight trade counter units already from local businesses and look forward to announcing our first occupiers ahead of reaching completion next summer.”

Bradley Norton, Associate at Knight Frank, added:
“Hattersley Trade Park will provide much-needed, high-quality space in east Manchester, offering businesses the opportunity to grow and expand, whilst also delivering an important step forward from an environmental sustainability perspective.”

Nick Shepherd, Managing Director at Britcon, said:
“We are proud to be part of a high-quality development that will provide a sustainable legacy to the Hattersley community, creating new jobs and supporting local businesses.”

We extend our thanks to the full project team including The Harris Partnership, Abacus Cost Management, ICIS Design, and Knight Frank for their continued dedication and expertise. To find out more about the opportunities on this site please visit: Maple Grove Developments
