Works Scope

Britcon was appointed Principal Contractor, by Associated British Ports, to undertake the construction of a vehicle import terminal at the Port of Grimsby (GAT - Grimsby Automotive Terminal). The scheme also involved extensive mitigation for ecology which Britcon undertook across 9 acres of the site.

Undertaken as a ‘Design and Build’ project, Britcon initially provided 55 acres of a macadam-surfaced vehicle storage area together with associated lighting towers, drainage and fencing.

The extensive infrastructure comprised a rail crossing, construction of a vehicle underpass, retaining structures, ducts and hard and soft landscaping, all within a working port environment.
