Overview
May Gurney are working with North Lincolnshire Council as part of the government building schools for the future.
Foxhills school was selected for improvements in the region of 11 million pounds. Discover 4 is the initial enabling works to refurbish & alter the existing gym block into a new teaching area. This will be used in September as the new school year starts leaving other areas free for the main scheme to commence.
The program of works was critical to the main school refurbishment & had to be complete for the end of August ready for the school staff to return in the 1st week of September & lay out the furniture etc ready for the children's return.
The scheme involved complete removal of all existing M&E service, major demolition works, new roof coverings, internal alterations over 3 floors, installation of a disabled access lift. New mechanical & electrical systems including IT & data installations. Decorations & floor coverings whilst the initial design was priced at tender stage the scheme has been reviewed & amended during weekly design meetings.
Whilst undertaking the above works the school also asked us to carry out the modifications to other existing rooms within the school along with May Gurney asking us to take on the services enabling works which involved 1000m of trenching works in and around the school to allow the installation of new elec, gas, water, IT & fire alarm services all to be complete for the end of August.
