Works Scope

The primary purpose of the H+H project was to develop the best available international technology to create an alternative sustainable solution to the use of pulverized fly ash in the process of manufacturing concrete blocks for the construction industry.

Britcon was employed under a NEC4 ECC (Option A) contract and acted as Principal Contractor for this design and build scheme. This gave our operational management team the opportunity to apply our ‘Project Custodians’ and ‘Britcon Way’ principles to an extremely high standard.

The scope of works included decommissioning, demolition works, reinforced concrete structures (above and below ground), a structural steel building extension, mechanical and electrical installations and process commissioning.

Key Project Challenges

  • Managing a complex project

How we successfully delivered the project

Britcon introduced new and emerging technology, with the use of 3D modelling and collaborative planning techniques, to proactively manage this complex project.

Engagement between our internal and external teams in the detailed design phase, provided an expert solution resulting in the project being delivered safely, ahead of time and on budget.
